The ‘Prisoner’ CNN Freed From Syria Was Actually a Torturer for the Regime

Whoops.

When Assad fell in Syria, some of the most insane images and videos came from prisons. People had been arbitrarily detained in the country for years, and when the government came down, it was heartwarming to see people who hadn’t been unjustly detained finally get a taste of freedom.

CNN knew the amazement these videos could bring, and so, they captured one of their own. Unfortunately, they may have gotten bamboozled.

In their video, a man can be seen being freed from a prison. He said that he’s been locked up for months and that he’s gone ages without food and water, to which the CNN reporter responds with amazement.

Of course, this should have been a hard pill for the reporter to swallow. The man’s nails were well-manicured, and if he had truly been deprived of food and water for as long as he said he had, he would look different (or even be dead).

Now, his state makes a lot more sense, as it appears that he was actually an intelligence agent for the regime. Might want to invest a little more in fact-checking next time, CNN!
